Citrix Enhances Web Conferencing with GoToWebinar 2.0
In a time when the world looks like it is spinning out of control and companies trying to save money wherever they can, webinars or web based trainings are the perfect option for any company looking to reach a larger audience. Operating a webinar support company has allowed us to work with several web conferencing providers over the years.
We have been recommending Citrix GoToWebinar for years and have found it to be an affordable and robust option for most companies. Though it isn’t the only provider we work with, we feel it is the easiest and most effective tool for delivering webinars on the market today.
In the 4th quarter of 2008 Citrix released its enhanced version 2.0 interface. The new GoToWebinar interface supports the following new features which alleviate some issues for which we had to employ workarounds in the past.
- Recording the webinars directly to your PC or MAC, including integrated audio recording! Previously we had to use clunky phone plug-ins to record audio and audio recordings were sub-par.
- We now have the ability to create polls on the fly during the delivery of a webinar. Previously we were required to create these in advance of the event and could not create them once the event was started.
- We now have a Voice Over IP option (VOIP) that allows callers to either listen over their computer speakers (in listen only mode) or participate via a microphone for their audio. Participants can still call in with their telephones as well.
The Live Online Learning team and I are very pleased with the enhancements made to GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar. All of the new features make our customer’s webinars and recordings more professional. The ease of use factor has also increased quite a bit - making everyone’s life easier!
